References Category:PantoneQ: Return all the items in an array where there are values in another array I have two arrays: $siteIDs = [1, 2, 3]; $groupIDs = [1, 2]; Is there a function that I can use to get an array containing the array values where the array $groupIDs is present in the array $siteIDs? So for the example, the array $siteIDs contains: 1, 2, 3 The array $groupIDs contains: 1, 2 The resulting array should contain: 1, 2 I've looked at array_intersect() and array_intersect_assoc() but can't seem to get them to work for this particular case. A: array_intersect() returns a boolean indicating whether all values in $arr1 are in $arr2. In your case, this would give you: array(0 => '1', 1 => '2') You would then just have to get rid of the zero array index, using array_shift(). EDIT: You mention that the array $siteIDs also contains values that aren't in $groupIDs. This is more a "where not" than a "where" question. To use array_diff_assoc(), you would want to loop through each item in $siteIDs. EDIT2: As suggested by Jordans, you can also use array_filter(), which would be more efficient. It will filter out the items that don't meet the condition and only return the items that do meet the condition. Here's an example: $siteIDs = [1, 2, 3]; $groupIDs = [1, 2]; function isInGroup($val, $ids) { return in_array($val, $ids); } // Returns the items in $siteIDs that are not in $groupIDs $ret = array_filter($siteIDs, 'isInGroup', $groupIDs); var_dump($ret); Is this what you are after? Claudio Ranieri’s first transfer window at Leicester City has started with a big bang. The Italian manager has already made a host of signings, including former England captain Jamie Vardy, Youri Tielemans, and Abdoulaye Doucoure
